- 본 논문은 한국사회에서 노인부양을 둘러싼 노인세대와 자녀세대간의 갈등의 문제를 다루었다. 두 세대간 갈등의 상황을 초래한 노인에 대한 사회적 위상의 변화와 그들에 대한 성경적 이해와 상담을 논하였다. 한국사회는 가정과 사회에서 노인의 위상이 절대적이어서 자녀들과 젊은 세대들은 그들의 가르침에 순종하였고, 그들의 노후생활을 책임져 왔다. 그러나 1960년 이후, 근대화와 더불어 노인들을 모시기 힘든 사회적 현상이 발생하면서 젊은 세대들은 노인부양에 대한 절대적 책임감을 회피하기 시작했다. 이 같은 현상 가운데 자신들의 노년을 자녀가 당연히 부양할 것으로 생각했던 노인세대들은 젊은 세대들에게 배신감을 느끼게 되었고, 이로 인해 두 세대간에 갈등이 발생하기 시작하였다. 두 세대간의 갈등 상황에서 상담자들은 노인에 대한 성경적 시각을 인식하고 이를 위한 상담을 진행해야 한다. 절대적 가치의 의미가 희미해지는 포스트 모더니즘의 흐름속에서도 성경은 여전히 절대가치의 방향을 제시한다. 노인은 상실과 무시의 대상이 아니라 하나님이 함께 하는 존중과 공경의 대상임을 상담자가 바로 알고 갈등상황을 풀어갈 때 바른 성경적 상담이 진행되어지고 세대간 화해의 모습으로 나아가는 밑거름이 될 수 있는 것이다.

- This study deals with the conflict of the elderly and their children generation centering on the elderly support in Korean society. Also it treats of the change of social status of the elderly, which brought up the conflict between the two generations, and of the biblical understanding and counseling of the elderly. The elderly is the absolute being at home and Korean society, so their children and the young generation obey their teaching, and willingly take responsibility for supporting their aged life. However, with the rapid modernization of Korea, the young generation started to avoid the absolute responsibility of the elderly support, raising the social phenomenon of difficult situation of supporting the aged from 1960. In the middle of it, the elderly, who thought naturally their children would take care of them, were felt a sense of betrayalagainst the young generation. There starts a conflict between the two generations. Counselors should process their counseling cases after gaining a correct understanding of the Bible perspective of the elderly. The meaning of the absolute value has deceasedin the current of post modernism, but the Bible still presents the direction of absolute value. The elderly is not the object of loss and ignorance, but the object of value and respect. Counselors have to consider this all the time and solve the cases of conflict situations. This can be the right biblical counseling and the cornerstone of the reconciliation of the generations.
