우리 사회는 고령사회로 진입하면서 노인들의 건강, 퇴직, 부양 등 여러 가지 문제들이 도출되고 있다. 그 가운데 노인에게 있어 성(性)의 문제는 인간의 가장 원초적인 욕구이면서 미묘하고 복잡한 사안이다. 다른 문제들과 달리 노인의 성은 사회적으로 부정적인 시각이 많기에 이 부분을 드러내 놓고 다루기 힘들기 때문이다. 하지만 노인에게 성을 하나님이 부여하신 선물이요 자연스러운 삶의 현상이다. 본 논문에서는 노인의 성에 대한 이해와 특성을 다루고 노인 성상담의 실제를 다루었다. 노인들이 지니고 있는 성에 대한 고민과 어려움을 치유하는 과정에서 상담의 역할을 구체적으로 제시하였다.
In the middle of changing into aging society, South Korea has faced to the elderly problems that are their health, retirement, financial support and so on. Among them, the sex problem of the elderly is the most basic instinct of humans, in addition to sensitive and complicated issue. Not like other matters, the sex problem of the elderly is difficult to deal with openly because it is seen in a negative light in our society. However, the elderly are also endowed with gift for sex from God and this is a natural phenomenon of life. This article covers the elderly`s understanding and characteristic of their sex and deals with real-life stories of counseling the elderly`s sex. It specifically presents the role of a counselor in the process of healing the elderly`s agony and difficulty about sex.
