본 논문에서는 상담에서의 성경 사용이라는 주제를 두 단계로 나누어 고찰해보고자 한다. 먼저, 상담에서 성경이 사용되고 있는 현재의 실태를 살펴본다. 이 단계에서는 상담에서 성경이 사용될 때제기되는 몇 가지 소주제들을 다룬다. 이 소주제들은 성경의 권위 문제, 상담에서의 성경해석, 그리고 상담에서의 성경 사용유형에 관한 것이다. 성경 사용유형에서 필자가 특별히 제안한 것은 성경 이야기 상담인데 이 상담은 서사비평, 이야기 이론, 성령론을 중심으로 연구되고 있다. D. 캡스(Capps)가 잘 지적한 것처럼, 성경을 상담에 적용할 때 방법론적인 문제가 있다. 두 번째 단계에서는 이 방법론적인 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 성경과 심리학간의 학문적 교류를 제안한다. 필자는 성경과 심리학간의 학문적 교류로서 2가지 방법을 제시한다: 성경적 심리학과 심리학적 성경해석. 성경적 심리학은 성경의 심리학적 측면을 다루기 때문에 균형잡힌 성경 해석을 위해서 성경학내에서 중요한 분야로 인정되어야 한다. 심리학적 성경 해석은 심리학적 환원주의를 경계하면서 신중하게 접근할 때 심리학과 성경과의 교류분야로서 유효한 도구가 될 수 있다. 결론적으로 상담의 지도 원리가 성경의 진리에 기초하기 위해서 성경과 심리학간의 학문적 연계가 필요하다.
This article intends to give some light on the topic of the use of the Bible in counseling in terms of two related studies. First, the article tries to look at the present situation and method of the use of the Bible in counseling area. In relation to this study the article deals with minor topics such as the authority of the Bible, interpretation of the Bible in counseling, and the type of biblical use in counseling. In this context, I suggest to develop the biblical narrative counseling, which is composed of narratology, theory of narrative counseling, and pneumatology. As D. Capps well pointed out, the application of the Bible to counseling has some methodological problems to be dealt with. In the second step, to solve the problems I propose an interdisciplinary study between the Bible and psychology. I am concerned with two areas so as to discuss the proposition in detail: biblical psychology and psychological interpretation of the Bible. Since the biblical psychology deals with psychological phenomena of the Bible, it has to be recognized as a necessary area in the biblical studies. The psychological interpretation can be a useful tool to bridge the two disciplines, if the danger of psychological reductionism is to be dealt seriously. In conclusion, the interdisciplinary studies between the two areas are necessary to set the leading principles of counseling on the biblical truth.
