The construction of Christian schools in Korea and the educational content contained religious content as well as the promotion of national spirit that could exert historical influence. Early Korean Christian schools became an educational channel through which modern education was transmitted, and contributed to the development of the country by nurturing and nurturing Christian talents with national spirit and faith. However, compared to the capabilities of early Korean Christian schools, Christian schools today are facing a serious crisis in the identity of Christian schools due to the current educational equalization policy. Even so, the identity of a Christian school and the spiritual execution power of the Christian university's chapel cannot be given up. Therefore, through this study, we try to approach an attempt to strengthen Christian capacity while considering the diversity by applying a special style that can be derived from the original purpose and form of the Christian university chapel, and adapting to the current cultural sense.
In general, a chapel can be composed of a Christian worship style or a devotional style, but in the process of attempting a style of such a chapel, this study examines the meaning and important value of the chapel and its form as a “comprehensive metaphorical style.” and “metaph communication” concepts are applied to present the theoretical basis and practicality accordingly. This is to suggest an attempt carried out through the chapel in relation to university education, especially the formation of Christian values in Christian universities.
The multi-faceted planning of the Christian University Chapel requires a three-dimensional rather than a single-sided method, rather than a single, universally uniform method. In other words, the method of chapel should be attempted as a comprehensive expansion of metaphor communication with three-dimensionality as an extended metaphorical style. One attempt at a new challenge is the beginning of transformation. Christian values have a world view of the creation order, which is established based on biblical values. If the expanded practical implementation of the biblical metaphor based on this biblical story is achieved through the Christian University Chapel, it will provide a new opportunity for creative transformation through the chapel for students exposed to today's culture.
