[[통합주의]] 목회상담과 목회분석에 대한 개혁주의적 조망

Pastoral counseling, developed and derived mainly from the background of stream of both theology and psychology, has been understood and carried out in various perspectives. Accordingly, to begin with, this study focuses on identifying the unique significance and purpose of pastoral counseling, which are distinguished from those of psychiatry and psychology. In order to fulfill this aim, we examine the difference of the concept of healing (or cure) between pastoral counseling and psychology, as well as the unique implication of pastoral counseling within the holistic pastoral context, especially regarding pastoral care. Additionally, in terms of the issue of pastoral diagnosis, as a necessary element in the process of pastoral counseling, this study attempts to reflect the significance of pastoral diagnosis within the pastoral counseling, through seeking a solution to resolve the problem of theological reduction and phenomenological reduction for all difficulties and problems of human beings. Furthermore, we trace the process of the formation and historical development of pastoral counseling, regarding its modern significance, as well as pastoral diagnosis, through surveying the theories and practices of some representative scholars or activists of pastoral counseling. Ultimately, from a view point of reformed theology, this study aims to make contribution to secure the unique identity of pastoral counseling in the pluralistic society, in which postmodernism is prevailing. In addition to this, this study aims to provide a more balanced perspective for the field of pastoral counseling in order to integrate theology and psychology more relevantly.
