본 연구의 목적은 정체성 혼란과 인간성 상실, 영적 욕구와 사랑의 훼손, 결핍과 외상 등의 다양한 심리적 이슈를 겪고 있는 사람들에게 로저스의 인간중심상담을 적용하여 성경적 회복과 치유를 이루는 방법을 모색하는 데 있다. 로저스는 내담자를 대하는 상담자의 인식의 변화에 기여했고, 수정되어야 할 존재로서의 인간이 아닌 원래의 모습을 찾아갈 수 있는 존재로서의 인간관을 확립하였다. 또한 인간중심상담에서는 상담자의 따뜻한 치료적 관계의 제공을 강조하는데 이는 그리스도인들이 서로 간에 어떻게 치료적 관계를 맺을 수 있을지에 대해 여러 시사점을 제공한다. 예수가 병든 자들을 대하는 모습은 로저스가 제시한 무조건적 긍정적 존중, 공감적 이해, 진실성이라는 촉진적 심리 태도의 온전한 모델이라 할 수 있다. 상담자 자체가 치료의 도구가 되는 인간중심상담은 예수가 치료 그 자체였던 것과도 맥락을 같이 한다. 무엇보다 따뜻하면서도 반응적인 상담자와의 관계에서 치유를 경험하고 자기와 유기체와의 적절한 상호작용, 현실 자기와 이상적 자기의 조화를 통해 진정한 자기를 경험하면서 완전히 기능하는 본래의 모습을 찾는 치료의 매커니즘은 예수와의 참만남을 통해 예수의 형상을 회복하고 영적 성장을 이루는 과정과도 흡사하다. 따라서 인간중심상담에서의 상담자는 가장 예수와 닮은 사람이어야 하며, 그 과정은 영적 치유의 과정으로서 작동할 수 있어야 하는 것이다. 이에 인간관, 상담자가 내담자를 대하는 태도, 치료목표의 관점에서 인간중심상담이 목회상담에 던져주는 주요 통찰과 적용점에 대해 고찰해 보고자 한다.

Many people suffering from various psychological issues such as identity confusion, loss of humanity, damage to spiritual needs and love, and deprivation and trauma. Rogers has contributed to the change in the client’s perception, and offers many implications for how Christians can form therapeutic relationships with each other. Jesus’ treatment of the sick has been presented as a model for a full counselor. Human-centered counseling, in which counselors are instruments of treatment, is in line with Jesus being the cure itself. Above all, the mechanism of treatment to find its original functioning appearance is similar to the process of restoring the shape of Jesus and achieving spiritual growth. Therefore, we would like to consider the main insights and applications that human-centered counseling throws into pastoral counseling from the perspective of human perspective, the attitude of counselors to treat their counselors, and treatment goals.
