Human beings, created in the image of God, experience various events while living in this world. The impact of suffering human beings face because of corruption is considerable. Among the many areas experienced through suffering, emotions are the most burdensome. As a result, it is hard to figure out how to handle, control, and mature emotions. God gave us emotions, so they could play a key function in the process of Christian maturity. Research on emotions is active in the field of general counseling, and the methods of those research results become utilized in the Christian community. Therefore, it is necessary to discern as well as to develop an integrated method that can be used in Christian counseling. This paper assumes that emotions not only contribute to human maturity, but also play an important function Christian maturity. It emphasizes that the understanding of the function of emotion should be specified and revitalization work for this should be applied in an integrated manner. First, this paper identifies the position of emotions as the main function of being human. Second, emotional functioning is organized at the general level and the Christian level. Third, an integrated method for activating emotional functioning is sought. It is hoped that this paper provides valid grounds for managing emotions in Christian counseling and helps find direction to be referenced in the counseling process.
